I did this portrait of Raven at figure drawing group at Argos Gallery this morning. I sketched in proportions lightly in pencil, then switched to pen and then to watercolor. I tried to get a range of tones to create three dimensional form. I began with the lightest tones and kept on working to darken and strengthen areas.

I really love Barry Blitt's football player cover of the New Yorker, "Illegal Procedure"(Sept. 29, 2014). I did this soccer picture in response to it, and from pictures I took at a soccer game last weekend.

I walked in the arroyo up to St. John's College this morning. It was amazing to see the changes in the arroyo from the heavy rains of Monday night. The water must have raced through the arroyo. I did this little watercolor while sitting on a bench in the shade.

On my recent trip to Colorado, I saw many of these prancing Deer Crossing signs. There were many signs for elk crossing, but none of the elk crossing signs had pictures.

Centaur. Pen and watercolor drawing.

I was frustrated by heavy rain and a leaky roof in my studio this evening. Luckily I was in the studio to notice the leaks!!  After I got towels and buckets, things settled down, and it felt good to draw a monster.
